Concrete slab construction
Flawlessly stable – you can rely on concrete for reliability

With decades of experience in concrete pavement construction and state-of-the-art technical equipment, ÖBA is your ideal partner for projects of any scale. Every year, we construct concrete pavements covering a total area of up to 500,000 m². In addition, we build around ten concrete roundabouts. To ensure maximum quality and efficiency, the concrete pavements are laid using machinery and/or by hand. In addition to road construction, we also construct Outdoor facilities and parking spaces as part of building construction projects.

Machine production

On motorways and expressways, it is particularly important to complete works quickly. That is why, as part of such projects, we lay concrete surfaces using the slipform method. This is made possible by a slipform paver, which not only allows us to work quickly but also ensures the highest quality of finish.

Handmade

For smaller areas, or where there are varying installation widths and warping of surfaces and roadways, we lay the concrete surfaces by hand.

Roundabout areas with concrete road surfaces

Roundabouts are subjected to enormous stresses due to the high centrifugal forces within the roundabout itself and the high braking and acceleration forces at its approach roads; concrete is far better able to absorb these stresses than asphalt. A concrete surface therefore significantly increases the durability of a roundabout.

Concrete pavements in urban areas

Intersections in towns and cities are subject to particular stresses. High braking and acceleration forces occur here, which concrete is better able to absorb. In bus bays, concrete prevents the buckling that often occurs in asphalt due to engine heat.

Concrete surfaces for outdoor facilities and parking spaces

Concrete surfaces are ideal for logistics centres with heavy goods vehicle traffic at loading bays, as well as for lorry parking bays, which are subjected to heavy loads due to the weight of the vehicles. However, concrete is also often a good choice for the aesthetic design of outdoor facilities, where we use special concrete, such as coloured concrete.

Concrete airfield surfaces

In airport construction, high-strength concrete surfaces naturally play a particularly important role. After all, passenger safety is a key consideration. Our concrete surfaces ensure that aprons, taxiways and runways continue to provide this safety for many years to come.
